Chid Liberty, MBA
Chid Liberty is a dynamic social entrepreneur and business leader known for his extensive contributions to fair trade, ethical manufacturing, and impact investment. He received his MBA from Oxford Saïd School of Business. He is the Managing Partner of Liberty Friedman in New York, where he oversees strategic initiatives in business and social enterprise.
Chid has served as the CEO of Liberty & Justice, Africa's first Fair Trade Certified apparel company, since 2010. Based in Monrovia, Liberia, and New York, his work focuses on empowering women and advancing sustainable practices in the apparel industry. He is also the Group CEO of Made in Africa™ (MIA), headquartered in Port Louis, Mauritius.
Chid holds advisory and academic roles, including Senior Advisor at Fairbridge Capital and Part-Time Professor at Parsons School of Design – The New School. His leadership extends to board membership with Unreasonable and committee roles with organizations such as Unreasonable Capital and the Sorenson Impact Foundation.
With over two decades of experience, Chid’s previous roles include serving as an Investment Manager for Ignite Fund Liberia, an Entrepreneur in Residence with Stichting SPARK, and Controller at Trilogy in the San Francisco Bay Area.
His initiatives have been widely recognized for their emphasis on fair trade, women’s empowerment, and fostering innovation in emerging markets. Chid’s career reflects his commitment to driving social impact through ethical entrepreneurship and investment.
